Job Summary

In this role, you will report to the Chief People & Culture Officer, while working alongside members of the Academy People & Culture team.

This role is responsible for identifying and monitoring needs in the organization, and designing, planning, and implementing training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs.

This position is based in Los Angeles and is hybrid. Onsite work is required three (3) days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews existing training programs and suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and / or to meet the changing needs of employees and the organization.
  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
  • Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
  • Obtains and / or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  • Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
  • Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training and training requirements applicable to the organization.
  • Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
  • Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to the approved training budget.
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Plans, organizes, facilitates, and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
  • Conducts follow-up assessments of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the P&C staff.
  • Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Communications is required plus 3 - 5 years of professional work experience in designing, implementing, and facilitating employee development programs.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered instead of the Bachelor's degree.
  • PHR or training certification is preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate training in person and via a virtual platform such as Zoom.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design, implement, and facilitate effective employee training and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain collaborative and objective while under pressure.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to self-manage and self-direct multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to multitask while working in an environment with demanding timeframes and competing interests.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to write concise reports.
  • Knowledge and experience using ADDIE Model in developing employee training.

The expected starting salary for this role is $75,000.00. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law.

Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
