Blue Ridge Community Colleges is seeking a full-time, 9-month nursing faculty. The two-year Associate Degree program is designed to prepare students educationally as contributing members of the health team, rendering direct patient care as beginning practitioners of nursing in various health services facilities.
The Associate Degree Nursing Program at BRCC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing (VABON).
This position includes instruction focusing on client care across the lifespan. Courses may include, but are not limited to fundamentals, physical assessment, professional nursing concepts, health and illness, and complex health conditions.
Content delivery is primarily through in person instruction (classroom, clinical, lab, and simulation). The successful candidate is expected to participate in institutional development activities such as community service, leadership on college committees, academic advising, and mentoring adjunct faculty.
Blue Ridge Community College faculty are expected to participate in scholarly engagement, professional development, and community service to both the campus and surrounding communities. Minimum Qualifications :
Master's Degree in Nursing
Current license or a multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice.
Minimum of two years of recent experience in direct patient care as a registered nurseDedication to teaching and awareness of the community college mission. Preferred Qualifications :
Previous teaching experience
Acute care experience in a hospital setting
Use of instructional technologies
