A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced MedSurg / Tele Trauma nurses for a travel contract.
Job Requirements
- The right candidate will have 2 years of experience
- Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License
- Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
- Experience with trauma patients, trachs and chest tubes, drains, lifts, geriatric, Avery camera system in all rooms
- Average 8-10 trauma at any time mixed with general Med / Tele pop
- Strong communication skills required
Schedule Information
- 12 hr shifts
- Report is at the bedside
- OT and extra shifts are available
- Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it
- Schedules are out 4 weeks
- Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff
- Block scheduling is generally not available
- The nursing bundle hourly rounding, board personalized

- Ratios : 1 : 4' - Tele, 1 : 5 - MedSurg
- EMR : Cerner
- Charge Nurse : Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief
- Nurse Aides : PCT 2 days, 1 nights
- Weekends : EOW
- Holidays : Rotate in with core staff
- Prefers travelers to work all holidays
- Scrub Color : Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black
- Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy
- Vents : Bipap and Cpap patients possible, RT to manage
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist
- IV Team : No
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes
