We are seeking a talented storyteller to join our Corporate Marketing + Communications team. The Marketing Copywriter plays a critical role on the corporate Marketing + Communications team by managing online and offline communication with target audiences to promote products and services, generate leads and build brand awareness.

This creative storyteller will oversee content requirements, develop content strategy and produce optimized content across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Source, write and edit marketing content, including corporate and product marketing material, sales and promotional materials, digital marketing content to support the expansion and growth of the company’s services and products, and other strategic content as assigned.

Maintain clear and consistent brand voice.

  • Identify industry trends and opportunities for promotional content; command persuasive writing style that generates interest in MJ’s services, value-added resources and company culture.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define content needs and contribute to editorial calendar development.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and gather key business and user insights to create attention-grabbing and effective copy.
  • Research, write and develop quality content across all of MJ’s business units; this will include email copy, blog posts, white papers, video scripts, case studies, press releases, website copy, digital and print advertisements, social media posts, and more.
  • Integrate keywords and phrases into online marketing copy; contribute to inbound and outbound marketing strategies.
  • Analyze all marketing materials, website content, and publications for accuracy, voice, brand standards and compliance.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to drive content strategy; optimize content to improve KPIs and audience engagement
  • Perform other duties as assigned

TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS

  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Possess the ability to translate complicated ideas into language that is easily understood by others; design sensibility to envision how content will be presented in formats other than text-based articles, such as infographics or multimedia presentations
  • Firm understanding of user experience and strong SEO and SEM skills
  • Hands-on experience with web content management, marketing automation, lead generation and social media tools

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of proven experience in communications, marketing, journalism or similar role; experience in B2B space preferred
  • Resourceful, creative and proactive self-starter with the ability to think strategically
  • Exceptional storyteller, editor and content producer with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional presentation
  • Aptitude to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
  • Ability to organize a daily workload with shifting priorities
  • Excellent customer service skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, public relations or relevant field of study
