Senior Electrical Engineer
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in executing electrical engineering and control system design for both commercial products and new product development value streams.
Here are the key responsibilities :
System Design and Analysis :
Analyze machine functional requirements and translate them into appropriate automation solutions.Create detailed product specifications, perform calculations, design and test prototype assemblies, and create panel layouts, BOMs, and electrical schematics.
Design Leadership :
Lead design review meetings before releasing assemblies to production.Guide a team of electrical engineers (2-4) by providing daily guidance, delegating work, and offering mentorship.
Subject Matter Expertise :
Serve as a subject matter expert in machine control systems.Identify opportunities for cost reduction, lead time reduction, performance enhancements, networking, standardization, and obsolescence management.
Process Improvement :
Identify efficiency gains across the Engineering Department.Develop standard working procedures for the electrical engineering team and ensure their adoption.
Project Management :
Report project status to the Manager upon request.Identify projects falling behind schedule and propose corrective actions.
Collaboration :
Assist production planning and the Manager in estimating design hours and personnel requirements.Participate in application order reviews, strategy meetings, cost reviews, and build-review meetings.
Problem Solving :
Assist assembly and machine validation teams in solving problems.Support the Service Department with field issues, including travel to customer sites.
Technical Content :
Advise the technical publications team on electrical engineering content related to sequence of operations, maintenance, schematics, HMI, and safety.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in Electrical / Controls Engineering or related field.
- AutoCAD Electrical experience (minimum one year).
- Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley automation products, NEC NFPA-70, safety risk assessment, and machinery compliance.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.
