Minimum Qualifications Possession of a license and current registration to practice nursing in New York State; a bachelor's degree in nursing;
and two years of post-licensure professional clinical nursing experience. One year of this experience must have been providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.
Substitution : a bachelor’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general post licensure clinical nursing experience;
and a master’s degree in nursing may substitute for two years of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
Duties Description As a Registered Nurse 2 (Community), you would directly provide, oversee, and coordinate nursing and health related care services for a caseload of individuals in a community setting, such as a Family Care Program, Mobile Integration Team, and outpatient clinic;
perform clinical case management activities; serve as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team; and provide nursing-specific clinical, consultative, and instructional assistance to individuals and their families, other disciplines, and health care providers.

3. If appointed you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES);
and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid.
If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
