Opportunity :

The Director of Product Marketing will play a critical role in helping Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS) to drive awareness and understanding of the organization's value proposition among district and school-level administrators and other focus audiences.

You will use your demonstrated experience with positioning & messaging, go-to-market, content marketing and sales enablement to lead the development and execution of strategies that :

  • Deliver new customers
  • Enhance retention
  • Boost brand / solution awareness and overall brand perception.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Communications, you will help shape EOS’ brand identity, delivering impactful content, collateral, customer evidence and product marketing campaigns that contribute to the achievement of the organization’s annual financial / growth and brand objectives

This role does not currently manage a team, and you will travel approximately 15 20% of your time. The salary range for this role is between $122,500 and $140,000 depending on your expertise and experience with similar roles.

Responsibilities : PRODUCT POSITIONING, MESSAGING & CUSTOMER INSIGHT 30%

  • Lead product positioning and messaging to support demand generation, content, development and go-to-market strategies
  • Become an expert on our buyers, owning market research and marketing intelligence for the marketing function, building deep insight on our buyer personas and driving alignment on key audience segments across the organization.
  • Understand the competitive landscape, defining our competitors and how they are positioned.
  • Define and develop appropriate content, collateral and programs to grow awareness, educate the market and drive end-user engagements.

INCREASE BRAND VISIBILITY, DRIVE GO-TO-MARKET & CONTENT STRATEGY - 30%

  • Lead go-to-market planning, for product marketing initiatives across marketing channels, including managing internal meeting and communication rhythms with key stakeholders
  • Develop and execute a robust content strategy that supports objectives across the buyer funnel, and supports multiple buyer personas and audience segments
  • Develop strategies, tactics and messaging to support industry alliances
  • Create and execute campaign plans that support EOS business growth objectives
  • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning across all communication channels, and support having a significant share of voice in the market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, influencer relationships and industry conveners / associations
  • Manage a product marketing-specific budget
  • Translate research into digestible content funders want to read including blogs / articles, downloadable publications, video and other content
  • Develop effective content across various platforms (blogs, videos, demo scripts, website contents, webinars, newsletters, etc.)
  • Track and measure content effectiveness and adjust course as required

SUPPORT, INTEGRATE AND ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF EOS’ EARNED AND CONTRIBUTED REVENUE TEAMS - 35%

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategy, inclusive of branding and value prop that supports both sales teams
  • Create and implement product-marketing, content and campaign strategies to generate qualified leads and drive customer interest in order to convert leads to clients and funders.
  • Develop recurrent communications that support our communication goals with specific audiences
  • Collaborate with demand generation team-mates to develop nurture campaigns to reengage lost partners for Partnership Development
  • Collaborate with demand generation team-mates to develop nurture campaigns for new individual donors for Resource Development
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop sales enablement programs internal tools, external collateral and training programs that teach sales about the campaigns marketing is running, the problems we solve for buyers, and how to handle objections.

SYSTEMATIZE MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION PROCESSES ACROSS EOS - 5%

  • Develop product marketing rhythm and calendar for org-wide communication
  • Design playbooks and messaging toolkits
  • Use Best practices & industry standards to operationalize product marketing and go-to-market work flow and work product

Requirements / Skills :

  • 8+ years of experience in the marketing function, particularly in the technology or education / education technology industry
  • 5+ years of results-oriented marketing experience spanning go-to-market, content strategy and supporting sales teams (experience in technology, education and edtech a bonus)
  • Product marketing strategy, systems, and process development
  • Demand Generation support
  • Digital and Customer Retention including developing programs to reduce churn
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, public relations, communications or other related field
  • Hands-on expertise in marketing databases & CRM tools - experience specifically with Pardot, Asana, Salesforce
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and Google; familiarity with Google Analytics
  • Strong written communications, problem solving, priority-setting and decision-making skills
  • Experience in developing marketing strategy for direct sales, fundraising events and campaigns a bonus

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced Degree
  • Experience with marketing SaaS, edtech or education services
