Job Description :
- Backfill contract for a Med Surg RN required for a 13-week night shift assignment.
- The unit includes 20 beds, with staffing dependent on surgeries.
- Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 1-3 RNs / LVNs, with possible PCTs depending on patient numbers.
- Patient ratios are approximately 5-6 : 1 during the night.
- The unit features equipment such as CPM, T-stat, and wound vac, and uses electronic medical records.
- Candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and perform relief charge duties.
- Procedures frequently performed include orthopedics, neuro, urology, thyroidectomy, hysterectomy, and DIEPs.
- A friendly personality with the ability to connect with patients and the multidisciplinary team is ideal.
- Flexibility in working days is preferred; communication should be responsive and gossip avoided.
- Dress Code : Navy Blue Scrubs; personal clothing is not acceptable.
- Mandatory break policy during the 12-hour shifts.
