The USPB Risk CAO organization provides a global focus for risk management strategy / execution oversight for compliance with Citi Policies and Regulatory requirements, and driving Strong Risk Management - for USPB Risk, Wealth Risk and Legacy Franchises / Banking & International Retail Risk Management.
The USPB Risk Independent Data Assurance Lead role and function is responsible for global and independent data and report assurance and data controls for USPB CRO organization, and consumer / retail risk reporting for Wealth CRO, Legacy Franchises Banking & International-Retail CRO.
This is a key role, responsible for addressing the significant demand across Risk Data Program deliverables and and supporting department objectives related to risk digitization, reporting / analytics talent development, BCBS239 controls, strategic data sourcing, client engagement, and related path to strong and consent order transformation programs.
The USPB Risk Independent Data Assurance Lead will partner closely with the Risk Reporting team and support the data needs of the USPB Chief Risk Officer (CRO), as well as consumer / retail risk reporting needs of Wealth CRO and Legacy Franchises / Banking & International CRO, ensuring consistency and efficiency in reporting.
Excellent communication skills are required in order to negotiate and interact with senior Risk leadership and partner effectively with other reporting / tech / data leads for delivering seamless and aligned transformation of USPB Risk / consumer data to overall retail risk target state including full adoption of new data management tools for compliance with CDGP, EUC remediation and BCBS 239 requirements.
The role will partner with technology / data / analytics peers within USPB Risk CAO, and leverage USPB Risk CAO India shared services team to deliver against commitments towards defined strong risk management target state.
Responsibilities :
- Develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive data assurance strategy and plan to inform and engage stakeholders across Risk 1st & 2nd LOD including Process Leads and Risk Managers
- Lead the delivery of assigned risk oversight strategic initiatives including all phases of discovery, data transformation, and achieving final operationalization to realize strong risk management
- Work with the various project teams to ensure key milestones are achieved for each phase of the project including UAT, Production Parallel and Sustainability
- Regularly and effectively communicate with senior stakeholders, both verbally and written, the strategic vision of target state PBWM risk management strategy, as well as progress of path to strong effort
- Analyze and evaluate risk frameworks and risk management business processes, anticipate requirements, and identify areas for transformative data and reporting / analytic improvements for effective and efficient integration of consumer and wealth business and risk practices
- Review / challenge data analysis and aggregation rules as well as independently perform data profiling and assessment of CDEs / Metrics / KRIs
- Analyzes new risk-related guidelines, best practice standards, rules and regulations
- Directs the approach to answering questions and involve appropriate Risk functions in Citi with audits and regulators.
- Provides Project Execution support of various deliverables in Consent Order Transformation. Involvement in rationalization of EUCs (End User Computing) used for Portfolio Risk Reviews
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications :
- 10+ years relevant experience
- Ability to synthesize complex data / analytics into succinct and effective presentations. Prior leadership in risk analytics, reporting / BI and data preferred
- Deep understanding of consumer credit risk and related data including understanding of USPB / retail risk management framework and practices, covering credit cards, mortgages, personal loans, student loans, and other consumer loans
- Strong interpersonal skills including influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills, able to leverage relationships and work collaboratively across an organization
- Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views
- Previous experience in managing Regulatory Inspections and Audits within a financial services company
- Professional ability and presence to interact with Senior Bank, Regulatory and Audit Management
- Project management knowledge and experience working with diverse group of stakeholders to achieve milestones and deadlines

Education :
BS or MS degrees in business, finance, economics, computer science or other analytically intensive discipline
