Description
Job Summary : The Technical Writer is responsible for the development and management of written product documentation. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to effectively write, review, and clearly articulate product information, well as communicate cross departmentally for the successful procurement of up-to-date product information.
Accuracy of work and project timeliness are critical for success.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assists in preparing and maintaining product documentation, technical guides, and user manuals.
- Maintains and improves the organization of technical documentation and supporting assets.
- Works with others to ensure all submitted material is complete on time and accurate.
- Develops communication and marketing materials for mass mailing, website, and social media use.
- Creates product labels per request of Engineering and / or Production.
- Edits and maintains controls-related pricing sheets.
- Follows established procedures to proofread and edit existing documentation.
- Develops and manages production timelines to coincide with product changes or new releases.
- Interacts with other departments when appropriate to fulfill various tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent and experience in technical writing, with a focus on user manuals, installation instructions, and tutorials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with new documentation technologies and documentation management strategies.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality documentation standards and other communication assets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, Adobe Creative Cloud, Workiva and Database Management Software.
Work Environment :
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for up to 95% of work hours.
- Close vision, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see in color.
