Job Title : Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
We seek a Maintenance Electrician to work on industrial baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, chillers, conveyors, packaging equipment, and baggers.
Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, tearing down, and reassembling machines as needed.
The role requires experience with single and 3-phase motors, HMIs, schematics, and electrical testing equipment. You will also work on vertical baggers (Hayssen & Matrix), Tanney & Langdon cartoners, inkjet printers, and other packaging equipment.
Documenting activities in the maintenance log and communicating with incoming shifts is essential.
Hard Skills
- Experience with single and 3-phase motors
- Working with HMIs, schematics, and electrical testing equipment
- Knowledge of bulk flour systems (transfer blowers, air-locks, divertor valves, sifters, etc.)
- Knowledge of industrial ovens, proofers, conveyors, and dryers
- Ability to work on low voltage and 120-480vac equipment, starters, motors, VFDs, sensors, controllers, photo-eyes, etc.
- Reading schematics and blueprints to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues
- Repair and calibration of hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies, metal detectors, and scales
- Testing electro-mechanical assemblies using test instruments
- Fabrication using measuring devices, cutting tools, and welders (stick & TIG)
- Installation and debugging of plant equipment
- Operating, testing, and maintaining robotic equipment
- Installing electronic parts and hardware using soldering equipment and hand tools
Soft Skills
- Effective communication with team members and incoming shifts
- Attention to detail for documentation and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform repairs and upgrades to ensure proper operation
- Support for installations and analysis of new equipment
- Reading and interpreting HMI panels to troubleshoot production line faults
Work Environment
Shifts available : 2x 1st (6 : 30 AM - 3 : 00 PM), 2x 2nd (3 : 00 PM - 10 : 30 PM), 1x 3rd (10 : 30 PM - 7 : 00 AM). Work is required 6 days a week with a rotating off day.
Expect to work at least 48 hours a week, covering all four buildings on site, often walking outside between buildings. The work environment can get hot as it is an older bakery plant.
Uniforms will be provided after 90 days; until then, wear a t-shirt and jeans.
