This position reports to

Research Department Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed.

You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education / employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is : onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Business. You will be mainly accountable for :

Participate in research projects : (a) Understand the technical requirements and identify components for new designs (b) Plan, build, and adapt test circuits;

and (c) Conduct laboratory tests, analyze data, and improve / optimize the solution

• Interact and actively communicate with other team members in the research organization and with suppliers of novel components for power converters and protection devices
• Deliver results in the form of numerical models and hardware demonstrations in support of new scientific knowledge and technical design recommendations;

and internal technical reports and presentations

Qualifications for the role

• Currently enrolled in a M.S. or PhD degree program in the US in Electrical Engineering Power Electronics or related fields (recent graduates will also be considered)
• Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
• Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.
