Founders Table Restaurant Group, owner of Chopt Creative Salad Company and Dos Toros Taqueria, is a market-leader in the fast casual space, with over 90 restaurants across the East Coast.
The Director of Accounting plays a critical role within the accounting department. Reporting to the VP of Accounting, this individual is primarily focused on the coordination and management of the Company's accounting close process and will support both external and internal financial reporting while improving existing departmental processes and procedures.
RESPONSIBlLillES :
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including collaboration and coordination amongst multiple stakeholders, reviewing journal entries, reports and reconciliations.
Provide technical guidance in preparing transactional accounting and documenting memos as needed.
Ensure compliance with internal controls.
Manage external audit and tax partners. Work with direct reports to establish performance goals and monitor their progress to enhance the professional development of team.
Streamline systems and processes.
CRITICAL SKILLS :
Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls, with experience and proficiency in researching technical accounting issues.
Ability to think proactively and work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Desire to continuously improve processes. Experience handling annual audits.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
C.P.A. license strongly preferred.
7-10 years of corporate accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory role Relevant hospitality, restaurant, or multi-unit retail experience preferred.
