Position Overview : We are excited to announce multiple openings for passionate and experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teachers to join our team in San Francisco, CA, for the 2024-2025 school year.

As a DHH Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized education and support to students with hearing loss, helping them thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing loss, tailored to their unique needs and goals
• Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, language development, and communication skills, using a variety of teaching strategies and technologies
• Collaborate with educational interpreters, speech-language pathologists, and other support staff to ensure effective communication and access to the curriculum
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to support academic growth and development
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other team members to provide updates on student progress and discuss strategies for supporting student success
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities as required

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
• Valid teaching credential or license in Deaf Education or Special Education with a DHH endorsement
• Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
• At least one year of recent experience working as a DHH Teacher in a school setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students with hearing loss and supporting their academic and social success
