Job Description :
The Instructor of Dietetics and Nutrition is charged with full-filling the teaching responsibilitiesforDietetics,NutritionandcloselyrelatedfieldswithintheFood,Nutrition andHospitalityDepartment.
Dutiesincludebutarenotlimitedtoclassroominstruction, curriculum revision, preparation of detailed syllabi and course material, student assessment, record keeping including attendance and grading, and other duties as assigned. Essential Functions :

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills :
- Faculty in Dietetics and Nutrition must demonstrate competency in the practice of Dietetics and the application of evidenced-based nutrition concepts through professional work experience, graduate education, continuing education and other activities leading to professional growth.
- Knowledge in macro and micronutrients, human physiology and metabolism, life-cycle nutrition requirements, energy calculations, population guidelines for healthy eating and medical nutrition therapy.
- Effective communication skills both oral, visual and written.
- Strong listening skills.
- Organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability in teaching methods to accommodate a diverse student body.
- Ability to use Word, PowerPoint and other document or presentation software.
- Ability to use other computer hardware and software to support the classroom environment and online learning platform.
- Ability to gather and evaluate information systematically. Use of research skills, analytical and logic reasoning.
- Ability to communicate in different forms in order to present lecture / course material.
- Ability to reason and problem solve.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods quickly in the classroom to promote learning.
- Manage multiple classes, academic or department work and student needs timely.
- Ability to actively and productively work within a team.
- Ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses and provide respectful discussion with student or co-worker.
Minimum Requirements :
Master's degree.
Five years working experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Must be Registered as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Must hold a State of Ohio Medical Board License to practice Dietetics.
Preferred
Two years' experience as a preceptor or adjunct instructor for a Dietetics, Dietary Manager or other Nutrition / food related discipline preferred.
