POSITION SUMMARY
The Regional Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all tax-related activities within the Americas region.
This includes ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, supporting global transfer pricing initiatives, and developing tax strategies to optimize the company’s financial performance.
The role involves working and under guidance of the global tax team, within Group guidelines, and with other departments to ensure accurate tax reporting, risk management, and strategic planning for the Region and Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Tax Compliance and Reporting :
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including the preparation and timely submission of all tax returns (corporate income tax, withholding taxes, etc.).
- Ensure proper calculation and reporting of current and deferred taxes in liaison with external consultants in year-end closing process.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, providing accurate documentation and explanations.
- Oversee the accurate calculation and payment of taxes for the region, working closely with internal teams and external advisors.
- Liaising with Group where required for compliance and reporting purposes
Tax Strategy and Planning :
- Develop and implement regional tax strategies with Group Tax, and aligned with the company’s global objectives, minimizing tax liabilities whilst ensuring compliance.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company’s operations, recommending appropriate actions.
Support Global Transfer Pricing :
- Collaborate with the global tax and finance teams to ensure that the company’s transfer pricing policies are properly implemented and documented.
- Assist in preparing transfer pricing documentation to comply with Group Tax and Regional requirements and support global initiatives.
- Support intercompany pricing arrangements, ensuring they are aligned with the global transfer pricing framework and local regulations.
Assist with queries with Group TP Manager.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with the finance, legal, and operations teams to assess the tax implications of business transactions, expansions, and restructurings ensuring alignment to Group Policy
- Provide tax advice on regional business initiatives, acquisitions, or projects, ensuring proper tax planning is considered.
- Ensure good communications with Group Tax team
Risk Management :
- Identify and assess tax risks within the region and implement strategies to mitigate them aligning to Group Tax policy.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard the company’s tax position and minimize exposure to penalties.
Work with Internal Audit team where and if necessary to strengthen compliance and adherence to internal financial controls

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
Technical Expertise :
- In-depth knowledge of regional and international tax laws, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and transfer pricing regulations.
- Experience managing complex tax issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- International exposure outside if the Americas
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills :
Ability to analyze complex tax matters, identify potential risks or opportunities, and develop practical solutions.
Communication and Collaboration :
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, external advisors, and tax authorities.
- Ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-tax professionals.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and thrive
Leadership and Management :
- Experience leading a regional tax function, managing external advisors, and coordinating with global stakeholders.
- Able to work collaboratively within a global Group structure

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in regional or international tax management, preferably in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of transfer pricing regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of direct and indirect taxes and compliance in Americas region
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Preferred :
- Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience working in a global environment with exposure to cross-border tax issues.
- Experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing business
- German language, or other European language
