Summary :
The InterDigital AI Lab in Silicon Valley is looking for motivated Ph.D. and Master students for internships focused on the application of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to patent documents.
The selected candidate will design, train, simulate, and provide proof of concept for ML models to improve the comprehension of patent documents.
Key Qualifications :
- Currently enrolled in a Master or Ph.D. degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Solid background in machine learning and NLP, including text classification and entity recognition.
- Excellent working knowledge of Python and Python-based ML modules such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Experience with text processing libraries such as NLTK or SpaCy.
- Hands-on experience developing and integrating ML models for text analysis.
- Familiarity with patent documents and related terminology is a plus.
- Ability to work in an innovative, dynamic, and research-oriented work environment.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct cutting-edge research in AI / ML for text classification and entity recognition in patent documents.
- Develop ML models for patent documents using NLP libraries and frameworks.
- Document findings, processes, and results to contribute to the knowledge base of the AI Lab.
