Electrician

Overview

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Installs, maintains, or repairs electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
• Maintains current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
• Troubleshoots electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits.
• Installs wiring and conduit and inspects systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Follows electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems.
• Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation.
• Understands schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

• Electrician License for the District of Columbia (D.C.).
• Minimum Education : High Diploma.
• Minimum Experience : Entry Level. 2-4 years of experience as an Electrician.

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.

May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.
