Job Description
The Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine at Orange Park Associate Dean of Research and Basic Sciences plays a crucial role in advancing the research mission of the institution and fostering excellence in basic science disciplines.
This position requires a dynamic and visionary leader who can collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and external partners to enhance research productivity, promote student engagement, and secure funding for research.
The position is also responsible for the strategic leadership of basic sciences coursework and faculty. The Associate Dean of Research and Basic Sciences works in conjunction with the Dean to ensure that the colleges vision, strategic direction, and priorities are implemented effectively.
Required Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent degree; *three (3) years prior experience in a high-level administrative role in a veterinary medical college;
- five (5) years of experience in a veterinary medical academic environment with an understanding of the academic environment and curriculum development *demonstrated research experience

Research Leadership : Provide strategic direction and leadership for research activities in basic sciences. Develop and implement initiatives to enhance the research profile of the institution.

Encourage collaborative and interdisciplinary research that involves students.

Faculty Management : Manage faculty in the basic sciences department, including recruitment, development, and evaluation.

Grant Funding : Identify funding opportunities and assist faculty in preparing successful grant applications. Build relationships with funding agencies and industry partners.

Research Integrity : Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulations governing research. Promote a culture of research integrity and responsible conduct of research.

Infrastructure Development : Work with the Dean and other stakeholders to develop and maintain state-of-the-art research facilities and infrastructure.

Promotion and Outreach : Promote the research achievements of faculty and students in basic sciences. Engage with the community and stakeholders to raise awareness of research activities.

Budget Management : Assist in the development and management of the budget for research activities and basic sciences (part of Academic Affairs).

Accreditation Efforts : Assist with accreditation efforts. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and requirements.
