We are seeking a Senior Manager of Training and Professional Development to oversee and build out a portfolio of products related to training, professional development and user documentation.
The Senior Manager is responsible for managing all of the online platform training, professional development and technical documentation offered by us and required to support a Department of Education’s large-scale assessment program.
The Senior Manager oversees a staff of 3-4 Training Managers and four Technical Writers who develop training materials, user documentation and conduct end-user training on our online testing platform across multiple clients.
The Senior Manager is responsible for maintaining an annual schedule of all client and project required deliverables related to training, professional development and user documentation which meets DOE needs across multiple states.
Also responsible for staffing, capacity planning, and quality assurance of all materials and services delivered to clients.
Additionally, this role will help build and support the vision for additional professional development services for K-12 teachers.
Your experience designing and delivering in person professional development for K-12 teachers is critical to helping support and define a new generation of Professional development training and services.
This role will also support project teams managing large, complex state projects typically involving clients in their first year using the platform or with multiple test instruments that require training materials on test-specific configurations.
This role is adept at handling and solving complex issues requiring resolution by multiple internal and client stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities :
- Managing a team of Technical Writers and Training Specialists who produce state specific user documentation and training materials for teachers, students, TA, Districts and Schools to ensure standardized test administration
- Assigning work to Training Specialists and Technical Writers to ensure all deliverables are produced on time and with zero errors
- Developing and monitoring schedules across state projects to ensure materials are delivered and deployed on time
- Providing Quality Control for all content in training courses, training modules and user documentation across states
- Ensuring standard operating processes are adhered to by all training and technical writer staff members
- Managing sub-contractors for producing training and professional development materials and for translations as required
- Following the HUB process specific to each state to solicit sub-contractors as needed
- Leading in-person training sessions for up to 200 participants. Training sessions may include the hands-on use of technology by all participants.
- Recommending and implementing process changes to existing training programs and materials.
- Developing relationships with clients and being the face of the training program for that state
- Responding to RFPS by drafting proposal text as it relates to training, technical documentation and professional development services and products
Job Requirements :
- Master’s degree required (MBA preferred)
- Minimum 5 years prior training and K-12 professional development experience.
- Experience in developing e-Learning and instructor-led training modules.
- Excellent written and oral communicate skills.
- Excellent public speaking skills, including facilitating large groups.
- Expert knowledge of the processes, services, methodologies and technologies required to support each of the tasks identified above.
- Ability to conduct engaging and effective training sessions to a diverse audience at various skill levels, often in large group settings.
- Good organizational skills, creative ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel up to 10-20% throughout the United States (travel may be concentrated in certain times of the year).
- Knowledge of industry-standard authoring tools to develop training materials (Storyline Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Lectora, SharePoint, etc.)
- Experience with K-12 Education and / or Large-Scale K-12 Assessment required
