Scopely is looking for a Design Director to join our WWE Champions game team in our Culver City hub, or remotely within the US west coast time zone!

As a Design Director , you will report directly to the GM, lead a group of talented designers, partner with product leaders, engineers, and artists, and create fun, engaging, immersive experiences that shape and evolve player behaviors.

Our ideal candidate is a relentless truth seeker, strategic and innovative thinker, team motivator, and driver of excellence.

You don't know it all, but you can learn it all and are eager to seek players' insights to iterate your design.

What you will do :

• Identify existing design constraints and craft a multi-year design roadmap to help the game flourish for many years or decades to come (we're 7 years old now)
• Ensure we provide the best design solution for each new release by understanding player motivation, behavior drivers, product goals, and design levers deeply
• Define and prioritize goals, provide guidance during development, and approve completed design work
• Build, lead, and mentor a team of designers
• Manage the creation and maintenance of game design materials to clearly communicate and share ideas / specifications across different departments

What we are looking for :

• Deep understanding of behavioral economics
• Masterful in feature, system, core game loop, economy, character, and meta-design to shape positive player behaviors
• Track record of designing systems that shape player behaviors & drive product KPIs
• Thrives in games as a live service environment, making changes with an engaged community
• Proactive communicator. Outstanding written, oral, and presentation skills
• Growth mindset. Open to feedback
• Collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team in a global setting
• 7+ years' experience in the games industry working in a design capacity, and meaningful contributions to multiple shipped titles
• 5+ years' Experience leading a Design team with a wide range of expertise
• Passionate about WWE IP

For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $186,300 - 291,000 plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
