The View From 10,000 Feet :

  • Production Supervisor : Report to the Director of Operations and Maintenance.
  • Authority : Maintains authority over all activities of assigned work crew.
  • Responsibilities : Effective and economical management of resources to ensure the work is accomplished in accordance with customer maintenance programs, FAA regulations, administrative and technical requirements of those assigned under the Supervisor’s span of control.

The Support Supervisor duties may be delegated to a qualified individual in his absence but ultimate responsibility for those duties remains with the Support Supervisor.

Detailed Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide oversight to ensure maintenance and documentation is in compliance.
  • Ensure all assigned Employees are permitted to take breaks and lunch during the designated times. Employees may be permitted to alter break and Lunch times as needed, with Supervisor approval, in order to support operational needs.
  • Review, adjust as needed, and Approve all assigned employees Time Cards.
  • Review assigned employees PTO requests and discuss approvals with the Program Manager
  • Monitor and Manage Tool Issue Report- Required Daily throughout each Shift.
  • Ensure all tooling is turned in after it is no longer required for the respective task card.
  • Task Cards are not to be processed beyond Supervisor Review is Tools are checked out to that card.
  • Coordinate with Backshops for Aircraft machining, welding, composite, and painting.
  • Maintain assigned Program’s Training and Qualification (T&Q) list
  • The Latest Revision of the T&Q list is to be printed and presented in the respective Control Center
  • Proactively communicate any needs from Support Departments in an effort to maintain Aircraft Flow
  • Ensure that all uncertificated mechanics or personnel are properly supervised per the assigned programs GMM and AWA.
  • Maintain daily turnover reports for each oncoming shift.

Prior to the end of each shift :

Email an electronic copy of the Daily Turnover to the assigned program email distribution list

  • Print and Sign a paper copy of the Daily Turnover (Maintain in a Turnover Binder in the assigned Control Center)
  • Maintain the hangar, aircraft, and shop cleanliness at all times.
  • Interaction with Program Manager
  • Attend all Aircraft Status Meetings while on duty
  • Attend all Program Specific Meetings- As Required
  • Coordinate with Production Control on the status of the Aircraft Maintenance Flow plan. Updates are provided to Production Control on a daily basis, by the end of the respective shift.
  • Labor Reports
  • Review Work in Progress (WIP) Reports throughout the assigned shift
  • Evaluate all task cards in work to ensure no over budget condition exists
  • Evaluate all Non-Routine to ensure the most current Approved hours are reflected in the system
  • This applies to Billable and Non-Billable Non-Routines
  • Communicate any Cost of Quality discrepancies to the Program Manager and ensure the work required to correct the discrepancy is closely managed and communicated.

This includes tracking any materials associated with the discrepancy.

  • Verify all Technicians on duty are clocked to their respective Task Cards
  • Closely monitor Employee Not Clocked report throughout the assigned shift
  • Evaluate Non-Routines, prior to issuance, and provide Labor estimates to the customer for approval. Impacts to span required tooling and skillsets required to correct the discrepancy must also be considered prior to seeking customer approval.
  • Assist the Program Manager in the evaluation of added Routines Tasks with regards to labor estimates and potential span impacts.
  • Task Card Staging :
  • Task Cards in Work Today
  • All Task Cards actively in work must be accounted for. Task Cards must not be issued without all required tooling and materials.
  • Task Cards- Next 24 Hours :
  • Task Cards are to be staged for the following Shift / Day. All required Tooling and Materials are to be accounted for and staged the Shift / Day prior to minimize delays in production
  • Task Cards- Next 48 Hours :
  • Task Cards are to be staged for the next 48 hours of work. Required Material and Tooling must be on hand, or tracking for delivery, within the next 48 hours.
  • Supervisor Review :
  • Completed Task Cards are to be reviewed to by the Supervisor to ensure all required signature blocks are signed, all work performed has been properly documented and legible (per T&Q / GMM / AWA), no tooling is checked out and any required references / material Pick Tickets are attached.

Supervisor is to Stamp the Lower RHS of the Task Card once the review is complete.

  • STS Quality Audit :
  • Once reviewed by Supervisor- Completed Task Cards are to be reviewed to by STS Quality Control to ensure all required signature blocks are signed, all work performed has been properly documented and legible (per T&Q / GMM / AWA), no tooling is checked out and any required references / material Pick Tickets are attached.

STS Quality Control is to Stamp the Lower RHS of the Task Card once the audit is complete.

  • Customer Audit :
  • Once reviewed by STS Quality Control- Completed Task Cards are to be reviewed to by the Customer to ensure all required signature blocks are signed, all work performed has been properly documented and legible (per T&Q / GMM / AWA), no tooling is checked out an any required references and material Pick Tickets are attached.

The Customer is to Stamp the Lower RHS of the Task Card once the audit is complete Note- This Audit Stage may be omitted if it is not required by the Customer.

  • To Planning :
  • Once Completed Task Cards have been through the Review / Audit Stages, Planning is to ensure Review / Audit Stamps are present and process the card to Closed
  • To Customer for Time Approval :
  • Once Supervisor reviews a Non-Routine and estimates the time required to correct the discrepancy, The NRC is to be staged for Customer Approval.

Once approved, the NRC can be place into work.

  • Any Disputes are to be communicated to the Program Manager for approval.
  • Materials Staging :
  • Materials are to be staged and available for the technician prior to issuing the Respective task.
  • Materials Cage is Off Limits to Assigned Technicians.
  • Tooling Staging :
  • Required Tooling for tasks in work / Next 24 are to be staged in the Materials Cage and issued with the respective task Card-
  • Bulk Items may be staged Plane Side as required
  • Material and Tooling Ordering :
  • Review and manage the Material Status report
  • Provide feedback and resolve any discrepant item on the material status report
  • Provide guidance and oversight of the material and tooling ordering on assigned program
  • Provide alternate part numbers
  • Personnel Roster and Attendance :
  • Required Manpower for the upcoming shift, Next 24 Hours, and Next 48 Hours

Qualifications :

  • Previous aircraft lead structures experience is required.
  • Preferred experience on CRJ.
  • A&P certifications are required.
  • Pay scale is determined by the number of years of experience.
  • Comparable military experience is acceptable.

Authorization :

All candidates must currently be authorized to work in the United States.
