Quality Manager - Assembly Group, LED Lighting Products.

Job Description : Quality Manager (LED Lighting Company).

Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our assembly group, manufacturing LED lighting products.

  • You will be responsible for the company's quality processes and quality management system (QMS) ensuring the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction through effective quality control practices.
  • You will be an engineering lead in a team of quality engineers and assembly technicians, develop and implement quality assurance processes, and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and deliver exceptional LED lighting products to our customers.

Responsibilities :

Leadership and Team Management :

  • Lead and manage a team of quality engineers and technicians, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Foster a culture of quality excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Set clear goals and expectations, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to team members.

Quality Assurance Strategy :

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Establish quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Identify key quality metrics and establish monitoring systems to track and report on product quality performance.

Quality Control and Improvement :

  • Design and implement effective quality control processes, including inspection plans, testing protocols, and quality checkpoints throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and drive root cause analysis to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Supplier Quality Management :

  • Collaborate with the materials and inventory management team to help evaluate and select suppliers based on their quality capabilities and performance.
  • Establish supplier quality requirements, conduct supplier audits, and implement processes to monitor and improve supplier quality.
  • Work closely with suppliers to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and build strong long-term relationships.

Cross-functional Collaboration :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and customer support, to ensure quality requirements are understood within the assembly group and met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to resolve quality-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Act as a quality advocate, promoting a customer-centric approach and driving quality awareness across the organization.

Training and Documentation :

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate assembly line operators and other team members on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality control processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection records.

Compliance and Audits :

  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits and assist in the implementation of audit recommendations.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in quality engineering, preferably in the LED lighting industry.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of quality professionals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality control processes, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to LED lighting products.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Quality-related certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
