Lead Embedded Firmware Engineer
The Lead Embedded Firmware Engineer is responsible for embedded circuit design and programming to ensure functionality consistent with design specifications.
The role primarily includes embedded firmware development, but also includes some software development of test programs and utilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (What duties are required for the position to exist?)
- Design of embedded hardware for new computer peripheral products.
- Design and coding of firmware & software.
- Interpreting product requirement documents and creating new and derivative products in a fast-paced design cycle.
- Participating in multiple concurrent design projects in support of the engineering schedule.
- Contribute to the technical support of existing products as needed by manufacturing, service, sales, and the customer.
- Support continuous process improvements to the design and development of products to decrease time to market and increase reliability and manufacturability.
- Conduct F / W & S / W regression, integration, verification and validation testing.
- Leading code reviews
- Managing projects
- Perform and Support qualification testing
- Mentoring of Jr. Engineers and colleagues

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated aptitude in :
- Embedded design, breadboarding, and debugging with common lab tools.
- Programming of PIC microcontroller based products
- Programming of USB and other serial communications.
- Firmware logic block diagrams and architecture
- Reading, writing and debugging firmware and software in C, and other languages. C# experience is a plus.
- Report writing and documentation
