Position Summary
University College is an academic support department and is accepting applications for a position as Instructor of Reading.
Qualifications Minimum Required Education Master’s degree in Reading or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours of coursework in Reading.
Minimum Required Experience Teaching experience with at-risk students. Minimum Required Licenses and / or Certifications None required. Qualifications
- Ability to use technology in the classrooms, including learning management systems.
- Working knowledge of learning differences and / or learning disabilities, and best practices in teaching underprepared students.
- Working knowledge of the Banner system.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach classes designed to meet the needs of a special population of students who are identified as at-risk.
- Create individualized plans to help each student achieve academic goals.
- Develop and document instructional outcomes.
- Provide weekly academic progress reports to the program coordinator for tutorials.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Monitor students at on-campus and off-campus program activities.
- Provide a positive learning environment.
- Complete all requested reports by the Chair of University College and the Dean.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Chair of University College.
