Pay Rate : $20.60 per hour
Status : Per-Diem (various shifts, depending on need / availability)

Job Overview : The Driver is responsible for safely ensuring that Messengers and incoming and outgoing mail is directed to the appropriate location, contributing to the efficiency and timeliness of the operations of the San Francisco Department of Public Health - Behavioral Health Services.
Essential Job Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Pick up staff Messengers on time and maintain timely delivery schedule.
- Drive Messengers, mail, and packages to designated SF DPH offices & contract offices.
- Report mail site and mail route issues to RAMS supervisor & DPH staff as appropriate.
- Maintain excellent driving record; adhere to vehicular safety standards & laws; follow rules of the road.
- Maintain the delivery vehicle in good, clean, working order at all times.
- Uphold excellent record of attendance and punctuality, professional communication & attire, positive demeanor, and high standards of organization.
- Pro-actively search out and identify tasks and department-related needs.
- Promptly communicate, share information, and respond to all queries, complaints, or requests.
- Develop and maintain clear, open, timely, cooperative, and diplomatic communications and working relations with all staff, consumers, and partner agencies.
- Prepare & submit accurate records, timesheets, and other program-related documentation per set procedures and deadlines.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other staff development activities.
- Engage in pro-active and productive teamwork in a collaborative and flexible manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience :
- Valid CA Driver's License; clean DMV record.
- Ability to work independently and establish priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills with accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize, manage, work effectively, and interact professionally with a diverse & interdisciplinary staff, mental health clients, and individuals who may have special communication and / or behavioral needs.
- Strong reading and writing skills; ability to understand and interpret written instructions or communications in English, and effectively communicate with staff, program partners, vendors, and clients
- Ability to follow directions, prioritize, multitask, and complete duties with minimal supervision,
- Ability to work independently and / or as part of a team
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
The Hire-Ability program serves the SF Bay Area community by connecting employers with trained, assessed, and pre-qualified employees and is run in partnership with SF DPH-CBHS, CA DOR, and private businesses.
The program provides adults with behavioral and / or mental health conditions / disabilities with culturally responsive vocational development / support services and paid internship opportunities in the fields of clerical services, janitorial services, information technology desktop support, and production and manufacturing.
For transitional aged youth (15-25 years old), RAMS provides soft skills training, benefits navigation, leadership skills, internship opportunities, and employment.
