Description
Diagnoses and treats communication and / swallowing disorders as assigned. Diagnoses may include, but are not limited to neurological disorders, deficits due to injury or surgery, developmental or acquired speech, language and swallowing disorders, hearing impairment, voice or fluency disorders, impaired cognition, sensorimotor deficits.
Cooperates with other departments and therapies in the comprehensive approach to patient care. Practices in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Schedules, evaluates and treats patients as assigned.
2. Develops outcome oriented plan of care, including patient and family teaching as appropriate.
3. Provides treatment based on plan of care, revises as necessary.
4. Accurately maintains all patient documentation, including computerized documentation, and completes appropriate charging for evaluation, treatment and teaching.
5. Participates in all required meetings, inservices, patient care meetings and QI monitors.
6. Assists clinical manager in program development and other duties as assigned.
7. Assists in student practicum supervision
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required :
A. License in Speech-Language Pathology from State of Kentucky.
B. CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from American Speech Hearing Association
C. Experience in acute, rehab and outpatient setting desired.
D. Basic Life Support (CPR)
