Job Description :

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Department of Dermatology Residency, Fellowship and Medical Student Programs and serve as liaison and facilitator between learners, faculty and other staff members, and the ACGME.

Under director of ACGME Program Directors, the coordinator will be responsible to provide advanced administrative program coordination and support and assist with general business operations associated with educational programs.

Will also provide administrative support by coordinating select departmental administrative activities.

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements :

A bachelor's degree and one year relevant program experience.

Preferred Training and Experience :

Bachelor's degree with 1 year relevant experience. Skills must include the ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing.

Must be able to work independently and proactively and must possess strong organization skills and initiative.

Must be efficient with minimal supervision. Must be able to make independent decisions while exercising good judgment and discretion.

Must be responsible and show initiative while working within prescribed guidelines.

Job Duties :

30% Prepares all ACGME accreditation reports and following with ACGME and University guidelines, manages competencies, evaluations, procedure logs, and work-duty monitoring.

Maintain e-filing system in accordance with ACGME for renewal of accreditation status. Will serve as liaison and facilitator between learners, faculty and other staff members, and the ACGME.

15% Coordinates and arranges match interviews. Ensures timely completion of matching information. Ensures appropriate deadlines for orientation are completed.

15% Coordinates resident rotations, conferences, vacations, journal club and call schedules.

10% Maintains up-to-date licensing for residents and fellows (DEA, DHEC, and SCLLR). Establishes and maintains files for past, present, and future residents.

10% Coordinates scheduling courses, rotation electives and shadowing opportunities for MUSC and external students based on faculty availability.

10% Assists with performing or management of departmental office functions, serving as the Department's lead for shared calendars and the liaison for maintaining residency and fellowship websites.

5% Liaison with Global Health Office to properly onboard international fellows, including visa paperwork.

5% Organizes and administers departmental events and other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, grand rounds, visiting professor and resident retreats / graduations.

Frequent) Ability to reach in all directions. (Frequent) Possess good finger dexterity. (Continuous) Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions.

Continuous) Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs., unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to lower objects, up to 15 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted.

Infrequent) Ability to push / pull objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to maintain 20 / 40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.

Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. (Frequent) Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance.

Frequent) Ability to determine distance / relationship between objects; depth perception. (Frequent) Good peripheral vision capabilities.

Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Frequent)
