The Head Bartender is responsible for providing guests with courteous and professional service in order to increase revenue for the company using up-selling techniques, and meet and exceed sales targets.
Essential Responsibilities :
1. Ensure all DOH standards are followed during each opening, during and closing times.
2. DOH Certificate required.
3. Supervise the bars and lounges and fully ensure that company standards are met.
4. Conduct all necessary training including new hires, utilizing on the job training, as instructed by the Beverage Manager, to develop each individual to the required level of service standards.
5. Work directly with the bar staff using a hands-on management approach, by helping the Bartenders during busy hours, as well as replacing them during meal hours as necessary
6. Ensures that all bar staff are familiar with the POS system onboard.
7. Ensures that cocktail recipes are followed according to company standards.
8. Ensure that bar par levels are maintained.
9. Ensure that all staff follows the correct uniform attire and procedures.
10. Make constant spot checks and instruct bartenders on how to correctly fill requisitions in order to maintain stock.
11. Attends department meetings.
12. Completes projects as determined by the Beverage Manager
To do this kind of work, you must be able to :
- Use arithmetic to total costs and make change.
- Converse with different people to provide information and deliver service.
- Stand and / or walk for long periods of time.
- Move hands and fingers easily and quickly to handle dishes, money and merchandise.
- Lift and carry heavy objects like heavy trays.
- Be available on nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands : Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing.
Environmental Conditions : Inside : Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside.
Math Skills : Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to : add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
Language Skills : Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to : Read instructions, rules, write sentences, and speak clearly.
