Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks.
This position will adhere to all accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including heavy data entry.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform bank account reconciliation
- Prepare and review balance sheet supporting schedules
- Prepare financial statements and variance analysis
- Assist in annual budget process
- Maintain schedules such as prepaid, accruals, and fixed assets
- Assist with A / P, A / R as needed
- Month end closings
- GL maintenance and journal entries
- Property level entries and reporting, monitoring fixed assets, allocations, GL accounts, and cash reconciliations
Experience
- At least 2 years of accounting experience.
- Multi-site / Multi-company or multi-state corporate accounting / finance experience
- Healthcare industry or rental property experience preferred
- CPA designation a plus, but not required
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting preferred.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP, Federal and State laws and regulations a must
- Proficient in Microsoft software and Sage
- Excellent computer skills to include Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel; accounting software experience
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-up skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written
- The ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels within the organization
- A customer service attitude with the ability to train and mentor others within the organization
