In May 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery introduced Max, an enhanced streaming platform, in the U.S. HBO Max is currently available in 46 countries and there are plans for the continued global expansion of Max in 2024.

Your New Role...

The Max Product Design team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Product Designer to join our team. Our goal is to revolutionize the way millions of consumers interact with the world's most extensive and diverse content catalog, which spans across various areas such as movies, series, sports, news, kids' content, advertising, and more.

As the Staff Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in our product design process, leading complex experience design projects in the video and audio space across multiple platforms, devices, and regions worldwide.

You will be working in tandem with a talented team of designers and collaborating with a dynamic group of creatives, product managers, engineers, researchers, and writers who highly value creativity, collaboration, and human centered design.

Our mission is to provide a world-class viewing experience to our audiences worldwide, and as part of the video experiences team, you will have the opportunity to redefine how consumers connect with content in different and deeper ways.

You will play a key role in forming a cohesive design strategy, leading high-impact projects, and expanding into new storytelling modalities to improve the end-to-end customer experience.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Lead end-to-end design projects, from ideation to implementation, creating intuitive and elegant user experiences across multiple platforms and devices.
  • Formulate coherent experience design frameworks to provide strategic and foundational pillars for the project and team.
  • Utilize prototyping and research to validate and iterate on your solutions, pushing boundaries and incorporating the latest trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive progress, uphold standards, and advocate for exceptional customer experiences.
  • Offer constructive feedback and guidance on various design artifacts generated by the core team and our cross-functional partners.
  • Conduct effective cross-functional working sessions, guiding and balancing group thinking through (remote) brainstorming and gathering feedback from colleagues to inform your decisions.
  • Present your ideas and creative solutions to various partners and stakeholders through compelling storytelling while applying clear reasoning, research, and a user-centric mindset.
  • Contribute to creating a positive, supportive culture that allows our company to offer compelling, innovative, and memorable user experiences.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • 8+ years of professional experience in consumer-facing product design, with 3+ years in a project leadership / ownership role.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strategic, user-centered design thought process and ability to develop thoughtful and elegant creative solutions to complex design challenges.
  • Proven experience leading medium to large-scale product design projects globally, across platforms and devices, and preferably in the media / tech space.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect individual features to the allup product experience strategy and effective interaction models.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Expertise with industry-standard design and collaboration tools, including Figma, Principle, Adobe After Effects, Keynote, and others.
  • Strong knowledge of product design best practices and work environments, such as agile development and lean UX.
  • Self-starter who can work independently with little supervision while remaining a communicative and accountable project owner.
  • Approach the work in a structured, strategic way that provides clarity and embeds confidence and trust.
  • Unphased by complexity and perceives challenges as opportunities.
  • Enjoys pushing design and interaction boundaries in creative ways.
  • Able to effectively context switch between several projects simultaneously.
  • Able to partner and activate your team members to help support your work.
  • Capable of guiding, mentoring, and motivating a team of experienced and junior designers, setting the standard for design quality and strategy.
  • Have passion for movies, series, and pop culture, who likes to stay on top of social and industry trends. Bonus points for having video / audio streaming experience.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and / or performance.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range : $109,900.

00 - $204,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.

In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
