Job Description
The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) reports to the assigned operational leader. The primary responsibilities will be to evaluate, plan, direct, document, and administer programs of athletic training & rehabilitation.
Works closely with other disciplines and specialties within the health system to ensure highly coordinated care. Communicates with physicians other clinical staff.
As a MUSC Health brand ambassador, develops trust with coaching staffs, Athletic Directors, student athletes and parents through effective communication and coordinated high quality care.
Works closely with the Sports Medicine Coordinator (ATC) to coordinate the athlete's schedule, treatment programs, and recommends solutions to athlete’s healthcare problems.
Conducts athlete intake assessments and maintains medical records for all athletes in our electronic medical record. Attends annual conferences and MUSC Health staff meetings.
Performs clerical tasks such as assisting with budgets, restocking supplies and maintaining inventory.
Additional Job Description
Education : Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Graduate of an accredited college with a BS / BA.
Masters degree in Athletic Training preferred).
License / Certificate :
Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers(BOC). Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC.
Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Weekend and evening hours to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events
