LinQuest is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in our office in Beavercreek, Ohio. The ability to acquire and maintain a SECRET security clearance is required.

Having an active clearance is preferred.

Description :

This position will support an advanced research project for the Air Force Research Laboratory. The selected candidate will support the Air Force Research Lab in development of advanced aerial refueling technology.

The selected candidate will work to build plans and supervise development of model based systems engineering tools to support both hardware and software for advanced autonomous aerial refueling technology.

We are looking for the self-driven, Systems Engineer to join the team to study and understand autonomous aerial refueling’ s primary objectives, evaluate architecture and digital models that desired technology utilizing Digital Engineering Tools (such as SysML and CAMEO).

Work with government and other industry partners to test, evaluate, field, and sustain necessary programs and capabilities to build out leading edge technology.

The right candidate will understand aviation development practices and how they apply to mobility development programs in support of systems engineering products.

Responsibilities :

  • Support complex technology studies
  • Support system-level integration and validation
  • Help define and analyze refueling missions and evaluating mission capabilities / performance for various scenarios and vignettes
  • Support assessments of vendor systems engineering practices to support risk reduction
  • Support end-to-end aircraft system architecture analyses and simulate operational tasking and resource utilization
  • Be proficient at framing conceptual challenges, developing and documenting methodologies to model, simulate, and analyze those challenges
  • Communicate (both written and verbal) clear insights and observations based on complex technical data interpretation to senior-level leadership and external customers
  • Collaborate with a range of organizations and customers to obtain necessary authoritative data, analytic techniques, and assumptions so that results from the above activities remain consistent with the general DoD analytic community
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and knowledge transfer as needed, to facilitate the successful adoption of technologies newly introduced into the AFSIM M&S suite
  • Demonstrate technical ownership and accountability
  • Solve complex problems

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • years of demonstrated Systems Engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • A senior level understanding of systems engineering functions and how they may relate to air refueling / mobility operations at the tactical level or of operations such as exercises, plans, coordination, demonstrations
  • Knowledge or experience of autonomous flight technology
  • Hands-on technical drive and accountability
  • Collaborates well with a diverse group of skill sets and backgrounds
  • High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a SECRET security clearance

Preferred Experience :

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or comparable technical field with + years of demonstrated experience
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as CAMEO or SysML
  • Experience designing, developing, testing or operating autonomous aircraft
  • Statistical techniques for approaching complex problems with large amounts of data
  • Application of systems engineering techniques and supporting skills such as database query languages, design of experiment and response surface methodologies, scripting language programming, and development of appropriate models and simulations
  • Understanding of joint operations environment, and / or aerial refueling tactics
  • Experience with agile development processes
  • TS / SCI Clearance
