Senior Property Underwriter- East Region

About the Role

Our Property Team is looking for a Senior Underwriter with recognized experience and visibility in the New England and Mid-Atlantic Commercial Insurance Market.

As a Senior Underwriter, you will be the main Swiss Re contact for our customers and will lead the internal underwriting process for your accounts.

Key Activities Include :

• Establish Rapport and Build Relationships with our Brokers and Insured's
• Analyze and Understand our Customer's Needs and Exposures
• Deliver Innovative Solutions that meet Customer Needs and Swiss Re Objectives
• Underwrite, Negotiate and Document Policy Terms & Conditions, Participation, and Pricing
• Manage and Grow a portfolio of accounts in accordance with Swiss Re Strategy

About the Team :

Our Team works with Brokers situated in New England, Upstate New York, and the Mid-Atlantic area (Philadelphia to Washington DC).

We handle a wide range of Occupancies and Account Structures including International Fronted programs. We are part of the Easter Region which also includes Teams in New York City and Atlanta.

About You :

You are a strong communicator, able to build trusted partnerships with external customers and internal co-workers. You have outstanding problem-solving and negotiating skills.

You are a self-starter, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team focused environment, and deliver on tight deadlines.

You are results oriented, show initiative, and take responsibility for your decisions.

• Minimum of 7 to 10 years relevant experience in property insurance underwriting of medium to large corporate accounts with wide range of occupancies
• Strong Broker and Client network
• Attentive to Detail, but able to see the "big picture"
• Proficiency in the use of underwriting tools and ability to interpret and judge the result
• Willingness to commit to Swiss Re Core Values of Client Centricity, Agility, Team Spirit, Passion to Perform, and Integrity

Role will require some Travel.

The position will be located in our Windsor, CT office. Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office two to three days per week on average.
