General Responsibilities
This position is responsible for journey level offset printing operations; to include other related equipment associated with production of documents and publications produced for use throughout the school system.
Education and Experience
Requires a high school diploma and three to five years of experience in the operation of offset printing machines and related equipment;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Plans work in accordance with written and oral instructions and requirements to supply all schools and departments within the school district with requested offset printed material.
- Plans daily offset printing production, with supervision from the Print Shop Manager.
- Operates computers and complex software as related to the work.
- Participates in the set up and output of digital files for offset printing plate production.
- Participates in the setup and operation of offset printing equipment.
- Keeps close watch of equipment to ensure trouble free operation, including production quality control.
- Participates in all aspects of finishing work related to offset printing production.
- Participates in the cleaning and maintenance duties of all offset printing and finishing equipment in the shop.
- Participates in the maintenance of offset production records, both digital and hard copy.
- Participates in the maintenance of customers digital files on all computers associated with offset printing operations.
- Places service calls and orders supplies for offset printing equipment as needed in the absence of the Print Shop Manager.
- Reports to Print Shop Manager when paper and other essential materials need replenished.
- Participates in the preparations of all offset printing work for delivery and maintains delivery records.
- Participates in the maintenance of a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Performs customer relations duties as they apply to offset printing operations in the absence of the Print Shop Manager.
- Provides training for other Print Shop staff members.
- Fills in other positions as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
