Deputy Director Administrative Services
Location : Clearwater, Fl
Pinellas County Government is seeking a highly motivated and diversely qualified individual to assist managing the day-to-day activities associated with the Department of Administrative Services.
The Department of Administrative Services is a diverse internal services department of Pinellas County Government encompassing divisions such as Facilities, Fleet, Real Property, Asset Management, Purchasing and Risk Management.
Work is to be performed with considerable independent judgment under the general supervision of the Director of Administrative Services.
The individual selected must be communicative and customer driven. In addition, the individual selected must have the ability to oversee and / or manage a diverse employment base consisting of skilled laborers / line / professional employees and assorted levels of supervisors and managers.
What Would You Do?
- Plans, develops, organizes, supervises, and reviews the work of a supervisory, professional, front line and clerical staff engaged in conducting varied internal services functions including but not limited to Fleet, Facilities, Purchasing, Real Property and Risk Management Operations.
- Assist / oversee the development of the departmental budget.
- Develops and recommends policies, in consultation with County leadership and other Directors.
- May provide oversight pertaining to the maintenance and repair of rolling stock, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, andinternal building systems.
- Ability to draft and present reports / presentations to various audiences including elected officials.
- Work with various elected officials and elected official staff to ensure key operating metrics are adhered.
- Work closely with the Department of Construction Services to ensure facility related projects are programmed, budgeted, and constructed timely and within budget.
- Act as Director of Administrative Services in the absence of the Director.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
What Do You Need To Have?
Education and Experience :
Nine years of professional experience that includes four years of responsible management or supervisory experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of experience as described above;
or a Master’s degree in a related field and three years of experience as described above; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and / or experience.
- A Florida Driver’s License.
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and / or disaster situations.
