Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing best practices and making architectural decisions to rapidly improve critical data processing & analytics pipelines.

You will tackle hard problems to improve the platform's reliability, resiliency, and scalability. You will provide technical leadership, lead data engineering initiatives and build end-to-end analytical solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective.

Our tech stack includes Informatica, Matillion / Altryx, Snowflake, Power BI / Tableau and various AWS / Azure services.

  • Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions with a flexible and adaptable data architecture
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it
  • Write unit / integration tests, contribute to engineering wiki, and document work
  • Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues
  • Design data integrations and data quality framework
  • Design and evaluate open source and vendor tools for data lineage and governance
  • Work closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long-term data platform architecture
  • Automate cloud infrastructure, services, and observability
  • Develop CI / CD pipelines and testing automation
  • Develop, refine and educate the data community on coding standards and best practices

Qualifications :

  • Experience building code-driven infrastructure on public cloud platforms, preferably AWS
  • Understanding of SQL, dimensional modeling, and analytical data warehouses, like Snowflake
  • Experience with automation frameworks / tools like Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform
  • Experience with AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, S3, EMR, Kinesis and SNS / SQS
  • Experience architecting data lake and cloud data warehouses
  • A product-focused mindset with ability to understand business requirements and architect systems that will scale and extend to accommodate those needs

Minimum Requirement :

  • A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative / technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering) or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience with demonstrated strength in ETL / ELT, data modeling, data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components and reporting / analytic tools
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in writing complex, highly optimized SQL queries across large data sets
  • 3+ years of experience in scripting languages like Python etc.
