The role of a Medical Assistant in Allergy and Asthma provides assistance to the Allergists in the diagnosis and treatment in a wide variety of lifelong allergy and asthma concerns, such as seasonal / environmental allergies, chronic sinusitis, and food and venom allergies.

Your role as a Medical Assistant will allow you to serve the community, simplify healthcare, and help to provide creative solutions to ensure a world class experience.

You'll join a creative and passionate team of physicians and clinical staff. This role offers plenty of opportunity to grow your skills as a Medical Assistant and expand your knowledge in healthcare!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete patient intake by taking vitals, updating health histories, and documenting chief complaints.
  • Document clinician exam and assist in diagnostic procedures and minor medical procedures, including breathing tests, allergy skin testing, and oral challenges.
  • Performs routine office procedures in a safe and effective manner.
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance of the laboratory area and equipment logs.
  • Collects updated patient information and charts patient exam in the EMR within the time parameters of the patient appointment.
  • Handles patient private health information within the guidelines of HIPAA and company privacy practices.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Provide patient education materials and communicate physician advice / instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Minnesota.
  • Willingness and ability to work and travel between all three clinic locations.
  • Valid Driver's License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ year of experience as an LPN or CMA.
  • 1+ year of experience managing patient health information within an EMR.
  • 1+ year of experience working within specialty care.
