The ID physicians will help direct the TB therapy, if the physician joining the practice is not familiar or comfortable with management of tuberculosis.
The physician will also rotate weekends taking calls from home.
- Performs patient history and physical at the time of admission.
- Rounds on patients in the hospital daily Monday through Friday.
- Rounds daily with nursing staff to review acute events and the patient care plan.
- Participates regularly in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Maintains appropriate records.
- Teaches residents and fellows rotating from outside institutions such as UT San Antonio
- Works with staff to provide the highest quality patient care.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
