We are seeking an Intake Coordinator for a non-profit organization dedicated to providing critical services and support to homeless individuals and families in the Somerville community.
The Engagement Center serves as a central hub, offering a variety of resources including :
- Shelter referrals
- Mental health services
- Addiction treatment services
- Employment assistance
- Educational opportunities
About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Intake Coordinator to join the team. As the Intake Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking services.
You will play a vital role in ensuring they receive the support they need. Responsibilities
- Conduct intake interviews to assess the needs of clients
- Gather client information and complete necessary paperwork
- Refer clients to appropriate services and resources
- Provide crisis intervention and support
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Assist with data entry and reporting
- Collaborate effectively with staff from various disciplines
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with homeless populations or a related field
- Strong understanding of homelessness and its causes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must agree to pre-employment background check
