The Supplier Development Engineer will leverage experience as a digital manufacturing engineer to develop the production resources for On-demand Manufacturing services and Custom products categories.
Through effective supply chain management, this role qualifies, develops, and manages digital manufacturing suppliers of meviy industrial components and products to continuously improve meviy’s overall digital manufacturing capabilities.
Develop and enhance digital MTO manufacturing process at production sites by collaborating with suppliers. Support back-end system and CAM development and improvements for utilization in the supplier manufacturing processes.
Follow procurement strategies and tactics to ensure Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets are achieved through effective supplier management.
Drive achievement of corporate growth targets to enhance competitiveness of meviy digital manufacturing. Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to seamlessly communicate business needs, support product and function development, and discuss and define suppliers’ required manufacturing specifications.
Support the start-up process of new products through timely planning of materials and components with suppliers. Travel up to 40% across North America Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
3 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain management within industrial businesses required.
Experience in low volume, drawing based business model preferred. Supplier management experience, including manufacturing excellence, quality control programs, inspection / measurement methods and testing.
Knowledge of machined, fabricated, and welded parts preferred. Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills required.
Must be an exceptional negotiator. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Project management experience preferred.
