Job Title : Registered Nurse - PACU Phase 3 Job Specialty : Pre / Post Anesthesia Job Duration : 26 Weeks Shift : 7P-7A, Night Shift, 12-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours : 48 hours per week Experience : - RN : Minimum 1 year of experience in the PACU setting (more preferred), strong in recovery, must have MedSurg experience, and be willing to work in MedSurg units- CNA : Minimum 1 year in a MedSurg or PACU setting, with 1 year of recent acute care experience License : State Licensure Required Certifications : - RN : BLS, ACLS, PALS- CNA : BLS Must-Have : - RN : Strong knowledge of post-op total joint care and patient ambulation, experience with bariatric patients, willingness to float to inpatient MedSurg units, familiarity with Cerner or EPIC charting- CNA : Blood sugar monitoring, assist with ADLs, charting with Cerner, post-op total joint care assistance, strong time management skills, willingness to float to inpatient MedSurg units Job Description : - Conduct manager interviews to assess fit for the PACU Phase 3 / Extended Observation Recovery unit- Handle elective surgeries monitored overnight, typically for a 23-hour observation period- Understand nurse staffing ratios according to ASPAN Extended Care guidelines- Work, if needed, within Main PACU with varied patient types and complexity of surgeries- Manage and discharge patients from Phase 3 and support Main PACU as required- Float within the scope and competency to other units as needed, including MedSurg units- Operate under a rotating weekend schedule, with a focus on discharging patients from elective surgeries- Adapt to a dynamic environment with teamwork and collaborationThis role requires a strong foundation in surgical recovery and patient care, along with the flexibility to support various units within the facility.
