Job Overview

We are currently hiring a Make Ready Design Engineer in our Program Management Services Division.

The Program Management Services Division at LaBella provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs.

Project teams are established to provide a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services.

The primary responsibility for the Make Ready Design Engineer is to provide engineering support for distribution engineering.

This role requires prior experience and a comprehensive understanding of NESC standards, utility electric distribution standards, and requirements relative to distribution.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter and can learn and flourish in a remote work environment. The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders is required.

Salary Range : $65,000 - $85,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret data provided from field data collection process, including photos and field notes
  • Understand and apply NESC Standards and electrical distribution construction standards
  • Accurately analyze field data, make ready design recommendations in accordance with NESC and utility standards
  • QA / QC various inputs throughout the design process
  • Prepare and generate all applicable documentation related to construction package, as required
  • Generate sketches and BOM’s in AutoCAD, as required
  • Meet or exceed deliverable deadlines
  • Travel for meetings and training as necessary (3-6 times per year), as required

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering degree (preferred)
  • Minimum (3) years’ work experience in electrical distribution related to utility assets
  • Strong knowledge of applying NESC standards
  • Understand and apply electrical distribution construction standards
  • Experience related to overhead communication attachments to distribution poles (make ready)
  • Experience with IKE Office, Katapult or similar, including adding annotations and using to design for make ready
  • Experience with Pole Foreman, O-Calc, a plus
  • Understand and demonstrate concepts related to Joint Use of Plant (make ready)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access and Word
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to speak clearly and confidently to stakeholders.
  • Successfully pass Background and Drug Screening
