What You'll Do Perform inspections of structural components in new construction Be the responsible engineer on threshold buildings Occasionally perform threshold inspections, including : CMU's, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, shoring / reshoring, post tensioned cable, precast / pre-stress members, wood-framed systems Document field observations by transmitting daily field reports detailing site activities Perform observations of structural steel and reinforcing steel, including welded or bolted connections in the field, and observation of exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS), waterproofing, roofing, or window assemblies Communicate daily with site contractors, other technicians and project managers What We're Looking For Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with the Special Inspector license required 4 years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-Threshold Buildings performed under the supervision of a Special Inspector who was responsible for monitoring of the trainee’s work Valid Florida Driver’s License Position requires carrying 40 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height Additional certifications required as follows : If inspecting post-tensioned components, certification from the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) in post-tensioning inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by PTI on January 1, 2017.
If inspecting structural steel components, certification from the International Code Council or American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) in structural steel special inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by ICC on January 1, 2017, or AISC.
