Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Director of Event Production, this position will assist in coordinating technical production support for the Event production team with University Events and Experience (UEE).
UEE provides in-depth event support for many campus events including the Office of the President, Ceremonial, Development, and multiple other inter-departmental and external events.
This position will work in a fast-paced, collaborative and dynamic work environment, with simultaneous and overlapping event workloads and schedules.
Responsibilities
Technical background with event or production experience
- Assist the production team and partners in the creation of event designs and logistical integration of sound, lighting, video (broadcasting and web).
- Support the supervision and provide stage management duties related to show direction, talent liaison, blocking and show calling.
- Identify audience targets, guest attendance interactions and manage the guest flow for ingress and egress at events to ensure positive participant experience and delivery of excellence.
Capacity for large-scale project workflows and event management
- Partner with respective stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective event planning including site visits, safety (Fire, Medical and Security) scheduling set-up, rehearsal, show / strike days.
- Responsible for creating and organizing master ground plan files, 3D modeling including scenic elements, viewport and annotation of callout details.
- Manage relationships with multiple vendors and departmental associates for multiple event scheduling and planning.
- Provide oversight on post-production editing (digital prep, audio and video format conversions and transcoding.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years' relevant experience. Experience with CAD file application, Adobe suite and applications (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder).
Proficiency in MS office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to manage multiple tasks, make critical decision, engage in effective communication, takes initiative, problem solve with an above average attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous UT experience. 5 years of technical event experience, with 3 years of project management. Event management experience supporting multiple large events with stage management duties.
Salary Range
$60,000+ dependent on experience
Working Conditions
- Standard office environment
- Work long hours intermittently
- Requires some travel
- Must be available to work early morning, late night, weekend and some holidays.
