Job SummaryAs the Cook you will have responsibility of food production in the kitchen operations. This position plays an integral role in managing the food production operations while ensuring client and customer service.
Must have the ability to work in a diverse work environment while remaining focused on client and customer Functions
- Prepare large quantities of food, following standardized recipes, within required production schedule and sanitation standards
- Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting a shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry and fish for culinary use
- Maintains basic food recipes, preparation, and service and storage sanitation principles
- Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance
- Dependable and able to meet schedule requirements (attendance and punctuality) with no restrictions
- Provides leadership and guidance to team members in the preparation and serving of high quality and great tasting meals
- May select recipes per menu plan, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and list foodstuffs and supplies and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets
- Deliver the highest level of customer and client services
- Consistently practices key sanitation procedures and policies, especially hand washing, proper food storage and maintain appropriate temperature of foods
- Consistently changes gloves from task to task properly washing hands in between glove changes
- Wears cutting gloves on the hand that holds the product needing to be cut. This will protect for potential cuts and other harm to the cook
- Cleans and sanitizes utensils and food preparation areas after use according to policy
- Practice safety, infection control and emergency procedures according to Southeast Health policies
- Any other duties as needed to drive to the Vision, fulfill the Mission, and abide by the Values of the organization
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year Service-related environment / industry preferred
- Minimum of 2 years Experience and / or training in food production preferred
