We have an immediate opening for a highly qualified and motivated Special Education Teacher to join our team in East Palo Alto, CA.
This position is for the new school year (NSY) and offers an excellent opportunity for immediate interviews.
Responsibilities :
- Provide specialized instruction to students with mild to moderate learning disabilities in a middle school setting.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with students' specific needs and goals.
- Deliver differentiated instruction to meet individual students' learning styles and abilities.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and social growth.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive educational experience for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents / guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and goals.
- Attend and participate in Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and professional development activities as required.
- Stay current with best practices and trends in special education through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild / Moderate) or ability to obtain one.
- Experience working with middle school students with mild to moderate learning disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong instructional and behavior management skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
