Human Resources Intern - Pacific Retirement Services

Pacific Retirement Services is looking for a Part-Time Human Resources Intern. This internship is an exciting opportunity for a current student or recent graduate to gain firsthand experience with a Human Resources team for a multi-state retirement living organization.
This individual will be under limited supervision and will perform duties for the Human Resources Department involving independent judgment, initiative and tact.
In addition, this individual work on assignments that are sensitive in nature and confidential. This position will be located at our Central office in Medford, Oregon.
How You’ll Do It :
- Provide ongoing support and resources to employees including greeting employees, answer telephones and responding to inquiries about job openings, applications, references, employment verifications, etc.
- Deliver information and assistance to employees, with a high level of interpersonal tact, in person, via phone, memo, fax, e-mail, text and provide resources as necessary / requested.
- Distribute employee memos / notices as assigned. May update employee communication boards, digital signage.
- Oversee the organization of employee files and ensure updates are performed on a regular basis, consistent with organizational standards.
May support tracking time attendance records.
- Assist in planning and organizing employee appreciation functions and events.
- Maintain a tracking system to monitor due dates for evaluations, Tuberculosis (TBs) tests, licenses, I-9’s etc.
- Assist in conducting wage surveys. Input approved wage increases and status changes into Human Resources Information System (HRIS) system.
- Support and / or conduct employee onboarding and orientation activities as needed.
- Assist in facilitating employee pulse surveys and exit interviews.
- Notify HR team of changes regarding I-9 compliance.
- Assist the HR team with benefit projects, open enrollment, benefit census, and report generation.
- Assist the HR team, hiring managers and recruiters with recruitment activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About You :
The ideal candidate will possess an attention to detail and accuracy. Candidate should be interested in learning more about operations in a senior living environment.
The hours will be based on department need and availability of intern. This position is temporary and nonexempt.
