Position Overview
Our Client is seeking a Structural Steel Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Structural Steel Manager, the Structural Steel Engineer will play a key role in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring goals for safety, quality, profitability, and schedule are met, ultimately driving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in project safety programs, observations, and audits.
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with various project-related tasks.
- Identify and promote changes that enhance productivity and quality on the project.
- Communicate effectively with Project Owners, Designers, Architects, and Engineers regarding project schedules and issues.
- Develop Requests for Information (RFIs), work plans, and project submittals.
- Track and report quantities of work performed, understanding the associated costs.
- Prepare time and material pricing submittals.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
- Maintain as-built drawings with input from field staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural steel erection, heavy civil construction, bridge construction, vertical construction, or other steel structures.
- Experience interfacing with fabricators, subcontractors, and owners to resolve design, procurement, and constructability issues.
- Proficient in coordinating contract drawings, design drawings, and shop drawings to facilitate the erection of structures.
- Experience collaborating with design and construction engineers to develop effective "means and methods" processes.
- Ability to accurately assess "to-date" costs and project final costs through completion.
Salary Range
The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $185,000, depending on experience.
