Join our clients' dynamic team as a Health & Safety Coordinator , a critical new role supporting our client’s Easton, Maine food manufacturing plant.
With over 400 employees, this plant is a hub of activity and safety is a top priority. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the wellbeing of the staff, working closely with leadership and the entire workforce to foster a culture of safety.
This is a brand-new position created to enhance our client’s North American operations. With the growth of the Easton plant, the importance of this role has become evident.
They need someone who is passionate about safety, eager to contribute and ready to take on challenges. Your efforts will be vital in maintaining a safe work environment and supporting employees.
The ideal candidate is proactive, excels in project management and data analysis and is comfortable on the plant floor engaging with employees.

Health & Safety Coordinator Responsibilities :
- Conduct and interpret risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Stay updated on regulations and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies
- Coordinate with various departments to validate and transition systems, like lockout / tagout
- Lead and manage health and safety projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision
- Analyze safety data, create reports and develop presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively
- Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, incidents and compliance efforts
- Foster trust and collaboration among employees and leadership to promote a culture of safety
- Run the joint health and safety committee and focus groups to engage employees in safety initiatives
- Address safety concerns and develop practical solutions to enhance workplace safety
- Leverage Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies to drive safety enhancements
Health & Safety Coordinator Requirements :
- Must have 2+ years of experience as a health & safety coordinator
- Must come from a manufacturing environment
- Must have exposure to risk assessment and job hazard analysis processes
- Proficiency with all Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data-driven and analytical with a strong sense of time management
- Degree preferred, but not required
- Strong preference for any safety certifications
